Lotus and a droplet in still water.
A lotus in mental health and therapy represents one’s ability to overcome challenges. Lotus grows in muddy water representing a rise from hardships.
The flowers bloom on long stems, which indicates their ability to float above the muddy waters of longing and attachment. It symbolizes detachment through the drops of water that easily slide off the petals.
Its waxy petals provide it with a layer of protection, and its beauty is unaffected by its daily re-bloom. Even though it has lost its way, it continues to rise and return as vibrantly beautiful. This flower represents an unbreakable faith and resilience.
The daily resurrection of the lotus flower is a powerful symbol of revival. Its ability to live for thousands of years makes it an ideal gift for those who have experienced traumatic experiences or injuries.
In therapy, a lotus is a representation of resilience. One of the most effective ways to explore these concepts is through mindful practice, which is a component of Buddhism. This can be incorporated into sessions to help clients feel more connected to their inner world.
A water droplet is a representation of the present moment, it represents mindfulness.
Despite its flexible and soft texture, water is capable of breaking down hard materials such as metal and rock.
To mindfully incorporate the values of water in one’s life. One needs to understand the essence of life, which is just like water, to keep flowing, so that it can maintain its spirit and thrive. You will find a way to get around whatever challenges you encounter, just like water does.
Maya Therapy
Maya, or magic, is a fundamental part of Hindu mythology. Maya first coined the term to refer to the power that a god can use to make people believe that the world is real. By extension, it also refers to the powerful force that can create the illusion.
Illusion leads to disappointment and pain but reflecting and letting go of these attachments frees us and brings peace and joy.
The universe is a finite entity, and the ultimate being is known as the supreme being. Maya is also reflected at the individual level by people’s ignorance about the self. This is because people mistakenly think that the self is an empirical ego when in reality it is actually a self-realized version of themselves.
In the Maori language, Maia/Maya means courage or bravery.
Colors
The colors used are shades of orange and green, both easy to find in nature and associated with traits of well-being.
The happiness of yellow and the energy of red create a warm and confident orange. It increases the brain’s oxygen levels and stimulates creativity and mental activity.
The color green is associated with money and nature and is also used as a symbol of fertility and health. It evokes a feeling of security and peace. In addition, it has a tendency to help people feel rested and satisfied.
